that an edge
has plenty of clout
sometimes I confuse an edge
with being on edge
a rock star
of a favorite band
has made it his name
while so many had used it
for ending their lives
& fearful I become
when there's an edge
in view
at the end
of a long journey uphill
as I'm eager to know
if I'll find
on the other side
a treacherous gorge
or a valley
of sublime beauty.
